The HGS internal league provides an introduction to competitive matches with the concept of games having an element of coaching from our qualified referees, to improve game understanding and game awareness.

Our internal league is a mixed ability league for boys and girls, from year 2 – year 5. We recognise kids develop at different stages and thus our more advanced students are introduced to the Watford friendly league and the Junior Premier League (JPL) where all our junior teams compete in the top divisions, from under 7s – under 18s.

We were absolutely taken back by the sessions HGS put on for the younger kids. We had previously been to another football school in the area and the difference was huge. At our previous class when the kids are 3-4 years old the sessions were chaotic with not much football based drills. What HGS are doing for this age is proper football.

My children have spent a few years with HGS - over weekends, half term camps and parties. Along the way they’ve made friends, had fun and learnt so much. My daughter’s appreciation of sport has increased as has my son’s passion for football. His ability too! Players that go through our elite development programs regularly get the opportunities to perform against professional clubs. So far this season we have been invited into West Ham, Arsenal and Chelsea where a number of our students have now progressed to these development centres.
